Lift off: Inside our new helicopter fleet

Victoria’s brand new fleet of helicopters have taken to the skies and are responding to patients across Victoria.
AW-139 twin engine helicopters respond to major trauma incidents, search and rescue operations, life-threatening medical emergencies and transfer critically ill patients from rural to major Melbourne hospitals.
The new helicopters are bigger, faster and can travel further without having to refuel. They are based at Essendon, Bendigo, Warrnambool and the Latrobe Valley.
