Pioneering paramedics honoured by Melbourne council

Six Ambulance Victoria (AV) paramedics based in Metro West were recognised for their exceptional work at the Wyndham City Council Emergency Services Dinner last month.

The annual event provides the local council with the opportunity to recognise, honour and thank local Emergency Service workers and volunteers.

MICA Paramedic Bruce King, Acting Senior Team Manager Blixa Webster, Senior Team Manager Eliza Drysdale, with Paramedics Superanse Nduwarugira, Laura De Witt, Steve Ruffell and Sean Stinson.

AV staff attended alongside representatives from other agencies including Victoria Police, Fire Services Victoria, State Emergency Services, Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Second time attendee, AV Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) Paramedic Bruce King said it was an honour to be recognised by the Council.

“It’s a privilege to be nominated and it’s certainly good of the council to show their appreciation for the emergency services and volunteer roles in the area,” he said.

“It’s also a great opportunity to catch up with the other emergency services, reflect on jobs we have attended together and get an insight into the challenges they face.”

AV Senior Team Manager Eliza Drysdale was one of two guest speakers on the night.
