Black Dog Institute is a proudly independent not-for-profit medical research institute affiliated with UNSW Sydney. Since their foundation in 1985 as the ‘Mood Disorders Unit’ at Prince Henry Hospital, Sydney, they have been at the forefront of mental health research. Rapidly evolving to drive the creation of new knowledge and ensure that clinical best practice continues to be improved and refined in line with the latest evidence.
Today, their focus has expanded to address new challenges and opportunities in mental health – suicide prevention, digital innovation, lived experience, youth and workplace mental health.
Black Dog offer a range of resources, including evidence-informed workshops and networks developed for health care professionals, webinars on the latest mental health research, podcasts and community and school presentations and resources.
Phoenix Australia
Phoenix Australia is an expert in trauma-related mental health and wellbeing. For over 25 years, they have been Australia’s National Centre of Excellence in Posttraumatic Mental Health and internationally recognised leaders in our field. They are committed to driving forward the mental health agenda both at home and abroad.
AV psychology team works closely with Phoenix Australia on a number of projects, such as the AV Psychosocial Survey and the SOLAR program.
