Ambulance Victoria (AV) has officially opened the doors of the new Manor Lakes Ambulance Branch to service the rapidly growing community in Wyndham.

AV Interim Chief Executive Officer Andrew Crisp today joined the Minister for Ambulance Services Mary-Anne Thomas MP to open the multi-million-dollar facility on Armstrong Road.

The new branch includes a four-bay garage for ambulances, four rest and recline areas, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking.

AV Board members Denise Heinjus (second from left) and Dipak Sanghvi (third from left), met with Interim Chief Executive Officer Andrew Crisp (second from right) and local crews to celebrate the opening of the new branch.

“We know Wyndham is one of the fastest growing areas in Victoria, so it’s important we grow as well to meet the needs of the western suburbs, now and into future,” Mr Crisp said.

“This is a great milestone for our hard-working paramedics, with Wyndham being the fifth busiest Local Government Area (LGA) in the state for ambulance demand.”

Operating 24 hours a day, this is now the fifth ambulance branch in Wyndham, alongside branches in Laverton North, Werribee, Tarneit and Point Cook.

“The state-of-the-art branch has been custom-built with the modern and safe facilities paramedics need to respond to critical emergencies and help save lives,” Mr Crisp said.

“Its prime location allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, hospitals, shopping precincts and community facilities – and that means better health outcomes for patients.

“These are fantastic facilities for our dedicated paramedics that they well and truly deserve.”

The branch was funded by the Victorian Government’s Ambulance Victoria Development Program and delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) in partnership with AV, and builder, Bowden Corporation.

In 2023-24, 11 stations were completed in Inglewood, Gisborne, Rochester, Clyde North, Avoca, Paynesville, Oak Park, Yuroke, Langwarrin, Epping and Morwell.
