Clinical practice guidelines

Ambulance Victoria (AV) paramedics are guided by clinical practice guidelines (CPG). These guidelines help paramedics provide the best care. AV uses an internationally recognised tool called the AGREE II Instrument to design the guidelines.

To design and review the clinical practice guidelines, AV looks at:

  • Data on how we have been performing.
  • Data and research from international guidelines.
  • Feedback from paramedics and other stakeholders.

The guidelines are managed by the Ambulance Victoria Clinical Practice Guideline Committee and Medical Advisory Committee.
